ELKHART, Ind. -- Court documents from Elkhart County reveal Cheyenne Elmore was in court Thursday for a status conference regarding her part in the death of her 6-year-old stepson on Aug. 3.

While at the conference, Elmore changed her plea to guilty for one count of Murder.

A sentencing date has yet to be scheduled.

The boy's biological father, Franklin Elmore, also pleaded guilty on Oct. 9. His sentencing is set for Nov. 25.

The Baugo Township Fire Department was called to a home in the 30000 block of C.R. 22 on Aug. 3 around 9 p.m. for a call regarding a 6-year-old boy being unconscious but still breathing after allegedly hitting himself on the head due to behavioral issues.

When investigators searched Franklin and Cheyenne's phones, they found dozens of photos and videos capturing the boy's abuse.

Authorities say none of the evidence pointed to self-inflicted injuries.

Case documents go on to state multiple messages between the parents also pointed to the abuse of the boy.
