Father pleads guilty to Murder of 6-year-old son

ELKHART, Ind. -- Court documents reveal Franklin Elmore pleaded guilty Thursday morning to the Murder of his 6-year-old son Justin Elmore.

Franklin's sentencing hearing is scheduled for Nov. 25.

Franklin and his wife, Cheyenne Elmore, were each charged with one count of Felony Murder.

Cheyenne is set to appear in court on Nov. 3 at 8:30 a.m. for jury trial.

The Baugo Township Fire Department was called to a home in the 30000 block of C.R. 22 on Aug. 3 around 9 p.m. for a call regarding a 6-year-old boy being unconscious but still breathing after allegedly hitting himself in the head due to behavioral issues.

When investigators searched Franklin and Cheyenne's phones, they found dozens of photos and videos capturing the boy's abuse.

Authorities say none of the evidence pointed to self-inflicted injuries.

Case documents go on to state multiple messages between the parents also pointed to the abuse of the boy.

Cheyenne is accused of knowing what was done to the boy but doing nothing to protect him and lying about what happened.
