St. Joseph announces road closures, traffic alerts for 2023 Grand Floral Parade

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. - A number of road closures and parking restrictions will impact residents in St. Joseph during this year's Grand Floral Parade on May 13, as part of the Blossomtime Festival.

The parade starts in downtown St. Joseph and crosses the Bicentennial Bridge before moving into Benton Harbor. 

With the parade starting at 1 p.m., road closures will be in place in St. Joseph by 10 a.m.

Traffic going into St. Joseph from the north will be detoured west onto Port Street and then south onto Lake Boulevard.

Traffic moving south on M-63 will head east onto Jones Street or continue south on Lake Boulevard for BL-94 during the closures.

Traffic coming from the south will be detoured at westbound Jones Street and follow the northbound route in reverse.

These detours will be in place until around 3:30 p.m. when the parade ends.

Drivers cannot park along the following streets from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday or risk being ticketed or towed:

  • 500-1000 blocks of State Street
  • 500-600 blocks of Market
  • 700-1000 blocks of Court Street
  • 500-800 blocks of Park, Price and Jones streets
  • 700-800 blocks of Hoyt Street
  • 1000 block of Church Street
  • 500-1100 blocks of Pearl Street

The Bicentennial Bridge will also be closed from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
