Southwest Michigan school districts get Filter First grants
BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- $50 million in American Rescue Plan Act funding is being awarded to public and private schools, as well as childcare centers across Michigan.
The money will be used to install Bottle-filling units, faucet-mounted filters, filtered pitchers and replacement filter cartridges. These will protect students and staff from lead exposure and other possibly harmful materials in water.
The local schools receiving the funding and the amount of money are as follows:
