SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend School Corporation helped make sure students were ready for the workforce today by holding their annual Workforce Readiness Fair.
The event was an opportunity for students to explore technical careers if they choose not to attend college.
The options ranged from car repairs, to aviation, to becoming an E.M.T. or firefighter.
One recruiter said that when students understand their skills, they can better decide what career path to take.
"Often students will be focused on their career before they even know what they really want to do or what they really have a gift for or what they’re good at or what they like to do, so it’s an opportunity to see if they like it, if they do like it they might have a talent for it, and go right into while going to school,” Tony Brooks, a CTE Recruiter for South Bend Community School Corporation said.
More than two dozen businesses and other career opportunities were present at the event.
