SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- At approximately 6:14 Thursday night, reports came into the newsroom of a collision on LaSalle Avenue in front of The Pointe apartment complex after a police pursuit.
Authorities say that the pursuit began at 6:08 p.m. at College and Lincoln Way when the driver failed to stop for a traffic stop.
The suspect's vehicle struck a parked car; the suspect has since been taken into custody and to the hospital for evaluation.
The scene has been cleared, and LaSalle Avenue has since reopened shortly after 7 p.m.
