SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The city of South Bend announced that it is the first city in Indiana to achieve a gold certification through the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for Cities and Communications program.
South Bend earned the LEED certification by demonstrating the city's commitment to preserving sustainability, human health, and economic prosperity.
“I am proud South Bend is leading the way forward, creating a sustainable future where everyone can thrive,” said Mayor James Mueller. “The city is committed to doing our part to meet our sustainability, climate, and resiliency goals.”
