South Bend police seek help locating 29-year-old shooting suspect
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Police Department announced it is actively trying to locate a suspect charged in connection with a non-fatal shooting which occurred in the 2200 block of S. Michigan Street Monday.
Around 1:40 p.m., Monday, police responded to Michigan Street on a ShotSpotter notification.
While officers were enroute, the call was upgraded to a shooting.
The report states officers arrived to find a woman suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
The victim was then taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit's investigation led to 29-year-old Tronell Morgan being identified as a suspect.
The St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office has charged Morgan with Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon, Residential Entry, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon, Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury, and Disorderly Conduct.
Morgan is currently at large and should be considered armed and dangerous.
