Shooting on S. Michigan Street Monday causes temporary high school lockdown

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Police Department reports officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of S. Michigan Street on the report of a shooting around 1:40 p.m., Monday.

Police say they located one female victim who was then taken to the hospital.

The SBPD Violent Crimes Unit arrived on scene and is currently investigating the incident.

No suspect information has been released at this time.

Detectives say the victim was in stable condition.

Riley High School was on a brief lockdown due to the incident.
