SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The City of South Bend announced the Department of Public Works is now accepting applications for the 2025 Lamppost Lighting Program.

The program assists homeowners with lighting enhancements, including easy self-install, solar-powered lampposts for residential front yards.

City officials say the cost-share program is open to homeowners within South Bend city limits.

The city has selected two target areas based on income, number of vacant lots, and need for lighting in the neighborhood.

Homeowners within target areas would pay $50 and outside target areas would pay $250.

The application deadline is June 6.
