South Bend man crashes into tree in Cass County Friday afternoon
CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- Early Friday afternoon, the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a single-vehicle crash involving a driver who had been trapped inside the wreaked vehicle.
The report states that at around 1 p.m., deputies were dispatched to Dailey Road, North of Jefferson Center Street in Jefferson Township.
When they arrived, they found the 30-year-old male driver was trapped in the vehicle. The Cass Fire Department was able to extract him and SMACAS transported him to South Bend Memorial.
Deputies say the driver, a South Bend man, lost control of his vehicle and ran off the roadway left and stuck a tree.
"[The driver] was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash," the CCSO said. "Alcohol nor drugs appear to be a factor in this crash."
