South Bend Cubs hits 3 million fan milestone
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The South Bend Cubs reached a new milestone on Wednesday, welcoming its three millionth fan under Andrew Berlin’s ownership.
Berlin purchased the South Bend Silver Hawks at 11:11 a.m. on November 11, 2011.
Since then, the Hawks became the Cubs and attendance at Four Winds Field went from 112,795 total in 2011 to 70,000 so far in the 2023 season.
“From day one, we wanted to turn the ballpark into a destination,” said Berlin. “Four Winds Field is not just a place where baseball is played. It’s where families come to gather, and friends can meet to catch up. We’ve turned this city-owned stadium into a facility that everyone can be proud of.”
The Cubs return to Four Winds Field Wednesday night for a five-day homestand against the Dayton Dragons.
