South Bend accepting applications for 2023 lamppost lighting program

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - South Bend Department of Public Works is now accepting applications for the 2023 Lamppost Lighting Program, which assists homeowners with lighting enhancements in their neighborhoods.

The cost-share program offers easy self-install, solar-powered lampposts for residential front yards and available to homeowners within city limits.

South Bend selected two target areas based on income, number of vacant lots and need for lighting in the neighborhood, and if you live within the target areas, you'll pay a lower share of the total cost.

If you're in target areas, you'll pay $50, and outside of those areas, you'll pay $250.

The last day to apply is Thursday, June 1 2023.
