SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Today is the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe known as V-E day. On May 8 1945 Nazi Germany surrendered to the allied military forces led by the U.S and brought World War 2 to an end in Europe.

ABC57's Brian Conybeare spoke with Professor Mike Conway from Indiana University Bloomington to discuss the history and the lasting importance of VE day.
