Cool for Indy 500 weekend with showers possible Sunday
The first half of today starts like yesterday, warm and mostly sunny with temperatures quickly getting to the 70s. A few showers are possible in the late morning, but the best rain chance will be in the second half of the day. After peaking in the low 70s early afternoon, a stream of scattered showers and a few thunderstorms flows in from the south and sticks with our area heading into tonight. While nothing is severe, plan to see the occasional strong wind gust and brief downpours through the overnight hours. An overnight cold front leads to lows in the 40s and Saturday high temperatures back near 60 degrees. Quiet and sunny weather lasts through the weekend and the start of next week with temperatures going up until Tuesday, when more thunderstorms are expected.
Today: Rain. High 73.
Tonight: Scattered thunderstorms. Low 42.
Saturday: Partly cloudy. High 60.
Sunday: Sunny. High 68.
