SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit is investigating after shots were fired near a short-term rental.
It happened at 11:30 p.m. this past Saturday, April 4, in the 1400 block of Sunnymede Avenue. That's just south of the intersection of Jefferson Boulevard and Twyckenham Avenue. Police say the initial investigation shows the shots were fired at a large gathering at a short-term rental property (i.e., a home listed on Airbnb or VRBO). Multiple cars and homes were struck.
The scene was cleared just after 4:30 a.m. the following morning.
No arrests have been made.
