UPDATE: One person is dead and another is hurt after a shooting at an Elkhart apartment complex.

This happened today, April 27, at about 1:54 p.m. Officers were dispatched to The Highlands Apartments complex, which is just south of the C.R. 6 Walmart. A male victim was found inside an apartment building and was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman was found outside and taken to the hospital for her injuries.

The Elkhart County Homicide Unit is investigating. No arrests have been made.
