National College Decision Day is pushed back this year
EKLHART, Ind. - Since 1992, vendors from Shipshewana have showcased their homemade goods in roughly 20 shows a year, known as Shipshewana on the Road.
Sunday, they were in Elkhart at the RV Hall of Fame, offering thousands of unique items you can't find anywhere else.
Almost 200 vendors, mostly regional, sold everything from pastries, cakes, and fudge to clothes and jewelry.
Woodworks and even furniture were available.
The traveling vendor fair is a way to sell goods, but also form connections between the vendors and the community.
"My mother went down to Shipshewana and talked to a lot of vendors that was near the end of the year. And the vendors were upset because they weren't going to be working during the winter months. And so just the concept kind of formed an idea and you know, here we are 32 years later," said Greg Fountain, Event Director of Shipshewana on the Road.
Shipshewana on the Road will make its way to South Bend, April 20 and 21 at the St. Joseph County Fairgrounds.
