SBPD PAL program to host boxing showcase Dec. 4

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- This Wednesday, the South Bend Police Athletic League (PAL) will host its annual Boxing Showcase at the Beacon Resource Center at 6 p.m.

"The event will feature several youth PAL boxers under the lights," SBPD officers said. "If you haven’t been, it’s a really neat and visual event -- they truly work hard to make it seem like a professional boxing match for the kids… with the spotlights… announcers… music… etc."

The event is an extension of the PAL’s youth boxing program, which is offered by the South Bend Police Department to kids each week free of charge.

The Beacon Resource Center is located at 4210 Lincoln Way West in South Bend. Organizers ask that those who plan to attend enter the Beacon via door A.
