SBPD investigating overnight shots fired incidents

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Police Department announced its Violent Crimes Unit is investigating a gunfire incident that resulted in damage to a South Bend apartment complex Tuesday night.

SBPD says officers responded to Jefferson Apartments around 11:10 p.m. regarding a report of shots fired.

Officers arrived and located damage from apparent gunfire to a parked vehicle and an apartment building in the 3100 block of Rue Bossuet Street.

No injuries were reported.

As police were investigating this incident, officers heard more gunfire to their south.

Authorities then located spent casings in the 700 block of S. 28th Street.

No damage or injuries were reported from the second incident.

Both cases remain under investigation.
