SBFD responds to early morning garage fire on E. Dayton Street

South Bend Fire Department SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A fire broke out in a detached garage in the 600 block of E. Dayton Street around 5:30 a.m., Thursday, according to South Bend fire officials.
Crews arrived to find the garage engulfed in flames along with a nearby car.
The South Bend Fire Department reports the fire was under control within 10 minutes.
No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.
