Sanctuary at Holy Cross set to open Oct. 1
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Recovering from an illness can be hard work, and that is why the Sanctuary at Holy Cross is opening a new rehabilitation and wellness center.
The ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Tuesday and allowed the community inside for a tour.
The 48-private room suites are designed to make guests feel as comfortable as possible.
"As you can see by our surroundings, we very much have made it not like a hospital or not institutional," said Linda Lewis, an administrator at the sanctuary. "We've tried to take that out of the environment and make it more home like, so we don't have to medication carts in the hallway. We have medications dispensed in the rooms."
The new wellness center also offers seniors home cooked meals, a salon, cafe and therapy pool.
The new facility will open Oct. 1.
