South Bend Community Police Review Board met Thursday night
ELKHART, Ind. - The Salvation Army of Elkhart hosted their annual Christmas gala, Friday night, raising funds for their programs throughout Elkhart, LaGrange and Steuben counties.
Over 70 individuals gathered in formal attire at the Lerner Theater's Crystal Ball room, thanking their sponsors.
The Salvation Army of Elkhart aids in diverse community programs ranging from overcome poverty services, empower youth programs and combatting addition.
Simply put, to be in the Salvation Army is to be "available to people in their need," said Joshua Hubbard, a lieutenant and corps officer with Salvation Army, Elkhart.
For Hubbard, being available could look like helping someone with their rent or by providing food.
"It's never saying no, when someone needs help," he said.
If you're interested in helping out, the Salvation Army of Elkhart encourages individuals to explore ways to volunteer or provide monetary donations.
"We would love for people just to join in," said Hubbard. "I always tell people, it's great to see and participate in service. You know, a lot of people support us financially. But I encourage people to follow their dollar and get their hands dirty and be a part of that."
