Salvation Army gets grant to help fund Basic Emergency Services program

LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. -- Earlier this month, a local Salvation Army in LaGrange County received $5,000 from the LaGrange Community Foundation as part of nearly $75,000 total given out in the groups Spring Community Impact Grants.

The funds will go towards the Basic Emergency Services program in the LaGrange community.

Development Director for The Salvation Army Ron Sherck said the funds would be used specifically to increase the number of resources to help individuals and families of LaGrange County who are facing times of financial crisis and provide supportive assistance.

The organization says the grant funds will allow The Salvation Army to provide support for approximately 640 individuals over the next 12 months.

“This grant award allows us to expand The Salvation Army’s assistance reach and help persons and families who otherwise would be limited in accessing available resources,” said Sherck.

This particular Salvation Army office serves LaGrange County, Steuben County and the northern half of Elkhart County.
