Saint Joseph Health System offering 3-D mammograms throughout May

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The Saint Joseph Health System announced on Monday that its Mobile Medical Unit will offer 3-D mammograms every weekday in May at locations in St. Joseph, Elkhart, and Marshall Counties.

"The MMU will be at locations like Notre Dame and the County/City Building, making it convenient and easy for women to receive a mammogram near work or home," said Public Relations Manager Tom VanNevel. "In addition to the 3-D technology, the MMU features a medical exam room and intake area for gathering patient information and education."

To schedule an appointment, call (574) 335-4500.

"Despite the attention October brings to breast cancer awareness every fall, only 69.1 percent of women over the age of 40 have had a mammogram in the past two years," Straight said. "May is Women's Health Month, a time to recognize the unique care needs of all women, including mammograms."
