Rounds of Lake Effect Snow through Monday

Winter Storm Warning goes into effect for Berrien County, MI, Laporte, Starke, Marshall, and St. Joseph County, IN at 11am today, with most of the rest of our viewing area under a Winter Weather Advisory from 4pm today until 7pm Monday. While most of us are waking up to some wintery conditions this morning, the bulk of the snow is expected through tomorrow evening with the Lake Effect portion of the system about to kick into high gear. Accumulation more likely on grassy areas rather than the roads, though some slushy, slick conditions are expected the longer this event lasts. Localized areas of over 6 inches of additional accumulation are possible through Monday evening, more likely the further west you go in Michiana. Biggest impacts from this system will be felt tomorrow during the commuting hours, with rapid changes in visibility, road conditions, and weather conditions expected. If you have to drive in the coming days, be very cautious. Snow likely stops falling by Tuesday morning, with a warmup to the upper 40s by Thursday. More rain chances next weekend.

Today: Widespread mixed precip, then lake effect snow later. Gusty. Accumulation less than an inch. High 38.
Tonight: Lake effect snow, accumulation totals 3-6 inches. Low 22.
Monday: Lake effect snow, accumulation totals 1-3 inches. High 36.
Tuesday: Some sun, cold. High 36.
