MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Mayor Dave Wood gave his annual State of the City address on Thursday in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
According to a press release from the City of Mishawaka, this year’s theme is “Honoring 250 Years of American Resilience—Living It Every Day in Mishawaka” reflecting the city’s strength, resilience, determination, innovation, and forward-thinking spirit City of Mishawaka.
Mayor Wood's address highlighted:
- Public safety and recent initiatives like 12-hour police shifts to improve coverage and response times WVPE.
- Economic development and record-setting construction activity, with nearly $149 million in new permits issued in 2024 WVPE.
- Infrastructure and utilities improvements.
- Parks and quality-of-life investments.
- Neighborhood revitalization projects.
- Financial stewardship and strategic planning for the future City of Mishawaka.
