River Valley Farmers' Market celebrates Christmas in July

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The River Valley Farmers' Market is offering off-season's greetings to the community with its Christmas in July celebration on July 27.

From 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. residents of all ages can come celebrate with kids' activities, fun gift ideas and a goat.

"Bring the whole family or come with a friend to this fun, free event at River Valley Farmers' Market this Saturday as we celebrate Christmas in July," organizers said. "Come decorate and eat Christmas cookies, let your kids do some free crafts, all while shopping for fresh produce. Lots of gifts available to get a jump start on your shopping for Christmas or back to school time."

The event will take place at the Commerce Center Building at 401 E Colfax Ave. in South Bend.

"You can even visit with a 'Santa' goat, one of our farmer's yearling [goats], although we can't promise she'll keep the hat on," organizers said. "Local vendors with home baked goods, handmade crafts, and farm fresh produce, meats, eggs and cheese will have their products available for you, even some cute Christmas decor! Take a quick trip to Christmastime while still enjoying summer warmth Saturday."
