Reports: Accused Tucson shooter Jared Loughner to plead guilty

The Los Angeles Times is reporting accused Tucson shooter Jared Lee Loughner is planning to plead guilty to federal charges.

Prosecutors say Loughner killed six people in a shooting last year at a meet-and-greet for Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.

Thirteen others were injured in that shooting, including Giffords, who has since retired from Congress.

According to the Times, Loughner is expected to enter his guilty plea Tuesday.

That's the same day psychiatrists are reportedly planning to tell the court that Loughner is competent to understand the charges against him.
