TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. -- The vehicular mascot of the Purdue Boilermakers, the Boilermaker Special, was involved in a violent crash on Thursday afternoon in Tippecanoe County, where at least one person is injured. 

The Tippecanoe County Sheriff's office received multiple calls at approximately 3:58p.m reporting a vehicle crash on US 52 in southeastern Tippecanoe County.  The Boilermaker Special was traveling north on U.S 52 when it crossed the median and collied with a car traveling south on U.S 52.

The driver of the passenger vehicle was fatally injured and the two occupants on the Boilermaker Special were transported to a Layfette Hosptial with non-life-threatening injuries.
