Area Agency on Aging BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- The community is invited to attend the 28th Annual Senior Expo at the Mendel Center at Lake Michigan College. All ages are encouraged to attend, including caregivers, friends and families of those who are seniors, or anyone interested in getting connected to a variety of local resources.
On May 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. attendees can explore more than 50 local vendors and enjoy entertainment from a variety of local performers, including line dancers and two local choirs. The first 800 attendees will receive a free Senior Expo tote bag. Region IV Area Agency on Aging (AAA) and The Herald-Palladium newspaper present this free event annually, with a Health & Wellness Pavillion sponsored by Corewell Health.
“This event is the largest gathering of seniors in the tri-county area each year,” AAA CEO Christine Vanlandingham said. “It’s an opportunity for people to come together and get connected with the aging services many of us need for ourselves and our families. We are thrilled to be able to offer this incredible event to the community again for the 28th year.”
Raffle prizes will be available from several vendors; attendees are also invited to enjoy the Photo Booth. The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office will be on hand to collect and dispose of expired and unused drugs, provide information on scams, as well as shuttle people from their car to
the door if needed. This year, the Berrien County Register of Deeds and Treasurer will also be available to provide expertise in their respective county departments. Some new vendors to see this year include several dining options like Ben's Soft Pretzels and Muncie Man Food Truck.
