Portage Township Trustee Office says pantry in urgent need of donations

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Portage Township Trustee Office announced the Portage Pantry is in urgent need of donations.

Officials say the pantry needs more donations to continue meeting the rising demand.

Township officials say they need the following items:

  • Canned proteins (chicken, tuna, beans)
  • Peanut butter and jelly
  • Pancake mix and syrup
  • Cereal
  • Ramen
  • Pasta & Sauce
  • Canned fruits
  • Diapers (all sizes) and baby formula
  • Toiletries (toothpaste, soap, feminine hygiene products)

Officials add that monetary donations are also vital with every $10 helping feed a family for a day.

Donations may be dropped off at the township office at 340 Columbia Street in South Bend.
