Penn teacher wins state award
Penn High School teacher Eric Bowers has received the Indiana History Teacher of The Year award.
The award is given out by the Gilder Lehman Institute and includes a $1000 honorarium, educational materials to help with his classes, and the opportunity to perhaps win the National Teacher of the Year award.
Earlier this year Bowers received PHM's Secondary Teacher of the Year honor.
Bowers does much more than just teach in the classroom, he also teaches on the tennis court.
He has been the Penn boys and girls tennis coach for his entire 20 years at Penn.
In 2018 he received the Indiana Boys Tennis Coach of the Year award from the state's High School Tennis Coaches Association.
ABC57 says congrats to Eric Bowers for all his excellent work in the classroom and on the tennis courts.
