National signing day celebrations across Michiana
Wednesday was national signing day for high school athletes moving on to play in college.
The Penn Kingsman had two major commits from their baseball and softball teams.
Mason Braun signed to play baseball for LSU in Baton Rouge.
"I really want to go to LSU and develop and continue to get better and hopefully get drafted after my junior year. That's what the coach's goals are. For every single player there, you'll leave in three years, get an education, but also, you'll become a professional baseball player," states Braun. "The thing I'm looking forward to the most is just the fans being able to compete for a national championship every single year. That that's the expectation down there, is you're going to compete for a national championship. And that's what I wanted to do."
Another Penn student, softball star Ava Zachary, was part of the 2023 State Championship Team and says she's excited to play in front of her home crowd for the University of Notre Dame.
"Just excited to get the process going and finally be committed to Notre Dame. From the first moment I stepped on campus, they really made it feel like a family. They really support you as an athlete as long as a person. So, it just really made me feel comfortable, and it felt like home," stated Zachary.
Mishawaka High School also holding a signing day celebration today, for Ella Watford committing to play volleyball at Tennessee Tech.
Congratulations to all the future college athletes across Michiana!
