ELKHART, Ind. --   The 13th annual Trunk or Treat event at Island Park returns on October 11 and kicks off a series of events throughout October.  The Trunk or Treat event starts at 11 a.m. and runs until 1 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes and enjoy a festive afternoon of trick-or-treating.

Children can gather candy from decorated trunks hosted by local businesses and community groups. Guests should enter the park using the Sycamore Street bridge entrance.

Other Halloween events taking place this month: 

• Pine Not So Haunted Woods Walk Saturday, October 18, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Woodlawn Pumpkin Carving Saturday, October 18 and October 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m.
