SOUTH BEND, Ind.-- An Adams High School freshman died Monday, yet parents are still asking questions about what happened. The South Bend Community School Corporation (SBCSC) only confirmed "a freshman from Adams High School passed away in an isolated health-related incident."

ABC57 obtained the 911 audio recording from that morning, which points to the possibility of a drug overdose. In the audio, dispatchers say, "Possible overdose" and "Two doses of Narcan have been given."

SBCSC has not confirmed whether the death was an overdose or if Narcan, the overdose reversal drug, was really administered. South Bend police also cannot comment, saying there is no indication of a criminal aspect to the case. The deputy coroner in charge of the case did not return calls from ABC57 for comment.

But as rumors swirl on social media, concerned parents called the ABC57 newsroom, looking for answers.

Across the street from Adams High School is Jeannie's House Diner, where one worker, Deanna Borowicz, says she cannot believe students had to finish school that day."

"I find it bogus for the simple fact, a lot of them students saw that happen," she said. "Why did they not close that school? Why did they not bring people in and talk to them right away? They let the kids go all day long with that in their heads, seeing that girl."
