MISHAWAKA, Ind.—Mishawaka’s Outpost Sports is set to hold a retirement and downsizing liquidation sale starting January 23, according to a letter posted to the store’s front door and website.

The store, located at 3602 Grape Road, is closed on Sunday, January 19 through Wednesday, January 22 in preparation for the sale, which will include deals on winter clothing, skis and snowboard equipment, footwear and bikes, among other items.

Signs on the store say the sale will begin Thursday, January 23 at 10 a.m.

While the signage and letter points to a retirement sale, owners JV and Sue Peacock have not definitively announced their retirement.

Outpost Sports has provided Michiana with outdoor and sporting equipment for over 47 years.

The store runs outpost locations on Lake Michigan that provide kayak and paddle-board rentals. It is unclear what the future holds for those three locations.
