Opening statements to begin in Sandusky trial
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Opening statements are scheduled to start Monday in the child sex abuse trial against former Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky.
Five men and seven women some with ties to Penn State were chosen for the trial jury, in last week's selection process.
Sandusky's attorney has made several failed attempts to delay the trial. He said he believes in his client's innocence.
“For anybody who's ever played a sport you take showers after you work out, said Sandusky’s attorney Joe Amendola. “I mean when people hear he got showers with kids they think, ‘oh my goodness he got showers with kids, that makes him guilty right?’”
Sandusky faces 52 counts of sexual abuse against at least 10 victims.
