One person injured in two vehicle crash in Cass County

CASS COUNTY, Mich. – One person was hurt when a vehicle rear ended their car, sending it into a utility pole Thursday afternoon, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office reported.

At 2:20 p.m., deputies responded to the scene of a two vehicle personal injury crash on Dewey Lake Street, east of Rudy Road in Wayne Township.

A car driven by a 30-year-old Dowagiac resident was slowing to turn right when it was rear ended by a pickup driven by a 34-year-old Dowagiac resident, reports said.

The car left the road and hit a utility pole following the impact.

The driver of the car was taken to a local hospital for injuries. The driver of the pickup was not hurt in the crash.

Seatbelts were worn by both drivers.

Alcohol was not a factor in the incident. The crash remains under investigation.
