UPDATE: The South Bend Police Department reports a suspect has been arrested in connection with an early Tuesday morning shooting in the 600 block of E. Indiana Avenue.

The suspect has been identified as 38-year-old Nora Jones following an investigation.

Jones was arrested in Mishawaka and taken to the St. Joseph County Jail.

Jones now awaits a formal charging decision from the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.

ORIGINAL STORY: SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- One man was shot in the early Tuesday morning around 2:30 a.m. in the 600 block of E. Indiana Avenue.

The South Bend Police Department tell us that the victim has been taken to the hospital for treatment.

The Violent Crimes Unit is taking over the investigation.
