UPDATE: Juvenile shot in Michigan City McDonald's parking lot

UPDATE: The Michigan City Police Department confirmed officers responded to a 911 call to a person shot in the parking lot of McDonald's on April 11 at approximately 4:38 p.m. 

When officers arrived at the scene, they located a juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound to the left leg.

Officers provided medical treatment to the juvenile before LaPorte County EMS transported them to Franciscan Health Hospital in Michigan City with a non-life-threatening injury.

The investigation revealed the shooting occurred during a dispute. 

The Michigan City Police Department confirmed this was not a random shooting and there is no known threat to the public at this time.

Additional information will not be released at this time due to the investigation being ongoing.

ORIGINAL: MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- The Michigan City Police were dispatched to a shooting at a McDonald's, 2404 East Michigan Boulevard, at approximately 4:38 p.m. on Saturday. 

One person was injured in the shooting. 

The incident is under active investigation and there is no known threat to the public at this time.
