One killed, two injured in head-on crash on US 12

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. -- A Sherwood, Michigan man was killed in a crash on US 12 early Thursday morning, according to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to US 12 near Sweet Lake Road around 4:30 a.m. in response to a two vehicle crash.
Deputies say a Nissan Altima was traveling westbound when it crossed the center line and collided with a westbound Kia Rio.
The driver of the Kia, Daniel Waring, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Waring’s passenger suffered severe injuries and was transported to the hospital.
The driver of the Nissan was also transported to the hospital.
Deputies say alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
