LONDON -- It was a big day for Americans in the pool.
Missy Franklin swam for gold in the 100-meter backstroke. And American Matt Grevers set an Olympic Record and captured the Gold in the men's. Fellow American Nick Thoman took silver.
But it was disappointment again for Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps who failed to medal.
It was also rough day on the mat for the U.S. Men's Gymnastics team. The team went into today's competition leading but fell to fifth.
