Old Indy Nordstrom gets Super Bowl hangout makeover

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Nordstrom Department Store closed months ago, in downtown Indianapolis, but now it's getting a makeover thanks to the Super Bowl.

Every part of the store is being turned into a hangout of sorts. The shoe department has transformed into the end zone, and accessories into the huddle. It's meant to be an extension of Super Bowl Village.

Folks can stay warm and have a drink.

"This is a terrific thing,” said Mark Miles of the 2012 Super Bowl Host Committee. “Maybe for the community, turning lemons into lemonade."

The host committee is footing the bill for the Huddle. They won't say how much, only just that it is worth the investment.

The hangout opens Friday.
