Drier but cooler weather returns for Wednesday
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Big Ten football teams discussed the upcoming season on Wednesday at the second Big Ten media day at Lucas Oil Stadium.
One topic of discussion on the mind of Ohio State players is the opening game of the season at home against Notre Dame.
"I've always dreamed of games like this, primetime, night game, everybody watching," said Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud. "Notre Dame is a great team, they're greatly coached and they do a great job on the defensive side."
It's not just the players who are making sure they are prepared for the matchup, as Ohio State head coach Ryan Day believes Notre Dame is going to give the Irish their best and start the season with a victory.
"It's exciting, I think a lot of people are very excited to see that game in the horseshoe," said Day, referring to Ohio Stadium's nickname. "I think part of the first game is just the lead up to it, making sure that you're preparing but you're not overdoing it as well because you got to go play."
The Buckeyes are keeping an eye on Notre Dame's quarterback situation, as it is unclear whether Drew Pyne or Tyler Buchner will get the nod to start week one.
Notre Dame travels to Columbus to take on Ohio State on September 3.
