Oasis Splash Park to close for Great Lakes Grand Prix

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- Michigan City Parks and Recreation announced Oasis Splash Park will be closed on Saturday, August 3, and Sunday, August 4, due to the Great Lakes Grand Prix event at Washington Park.

Parks and Rec officials say the park will resume normal hours on Monday, August 5.

XINSURANCE Great Lakes Grand Prix

The XINSURANCE Great Lakes Grand Prix boat race takes place the first week of August each year.

Organizers say attendees can expect to see some of the world’s fastest and most powerful offshore boats dash and splash along the southern edge of Lake Michigan.

The event boasts a boat parade, block party, golf outing, live entertainment, family activities, festival food, and drinks.   

Attendees will be able to meet boat owners, racers, and team members staged throughout Washington Park.
