SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The 6th ranked and undefeated Notre Dame Women's Basketball team is getting ready for their biggest test so far this season, as the Irish will face the 3rd ranked USC Trojans on the road.
The highly anticipated matchup features Notre Dame star point guard and last year's ACC Rookie of the year Hannah Hidalgo, and southern California's Juju Watkins who was The National Freshmen of the Year last season.
"It's really important for the game, because this is the future. You know, those two you obviously have live you always, you obviously have Sony, Paige Beckers, but like, this is the future of the women's game, and to see them together, going against each other, home and home, because they're coming here next year is going to be, I think it's just shows how far along we are in this basketball world, and there's a lot of eyes on juju, there's a lot of eyes on us, there's a lot of eyes on a lot of women's basketball programs. So to see those two match up, I think it's going to be great to showcase how elite women's basketball is right now," stated Head Coach Niele Ivey.
The two teams will face each other at 4 p.m. Saturday in Los Angeles.
