Notre Dame vs. Army
SAN ANTONIO, TX-- The Notre Dame Fighting Irish took on the Army Black Knights Saturday in a Shamrock Series classic at the Alamodrome in San Antonio, Texas.
The Irish come out swinging with an immediate touchdown on the first play. CJ Sanders returns the kick from Army's N. Schrage, running an incredible 92 yards and no one can touch him. Sanders straight to the endzone to put the Irish up 7-0.
And still in the first, the Irish go up again. 37 yard pass from Deshone Kizer finds Keven Stepherson deep in Army territory and he will run it home. Kick is good and the Irish go ahead 14-0.
Another ND score! Its Irish sophomore Josh Adams with the 2 yard run and a fair kick from Justin Yoon, adding another 7 to the domers tally. 21-0 Notre Dame.
Start of the 2nd- Army makes a strong run at the scoreboard, putting up their first number with a 2 yard run by freshmen Kell Walker. Army 6, Notre Dame 21.
Halfway through the second, Notre Dame puts up another 7. 10 Yard pass from Deshone Kizer hits Durham Smythe and the Irish jump to 28-6.
Notre Dame field goal! Justin Yoon puts it through it through the uprights from 27 yards out. Irish 31-6
Just 30 seconds left in the half and the Irish make the most of it. Notre Dame into the endzone again-- Kizer passes to Durham Smythe for 31 yards and the pair's second TD of the game. 38-6 Irish.
Halftime at the Alamodrome -- Irish lead the Knights 38-6.
The Irish open the second half with another TD-- Notre Dame senior Tarean Folston with the 7 yard carry into the endzone, but the kick is no good. Irish up 44-6.
With a 38 point lead in the last minutes of the 4th, Irish put in QB Malik Zaire.
The Fighting Irish pick up their fourth win of the season with a 44-6 victory; routing Army at the Alamo. Notre Dame is next set to take on Virginia Tech Hokies at home on Saturday, November 19.
