Notre Dame rallies past Boston College 68-64 to snap five-game skid

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame men’s basketball snapped a five-game losing streak Saturday night, rallying from a 13-point deficit to beat Boston College 68-64 at Purcell Pavilion.

The Fighting Irish trailed by 11 at halftime after a rough first half but came out sharper after the break and controlled the final 20 minutes.

Notre Dame outscored Boston College 44-29 in the second half — its highest-scoring half in an ACC game this season — and shot 50 percent after halftime.

Braeden Shrewsberry led all scorers with 22 points. Jalen Haralson finished with 17, including 11 in the second half as Notre Dame chipped away and eventually took the lead.

Carson Towt provided a lift on the glass with 13 rebounds, seven of them offensive. He added six points and two assists as the Irish created extra possessions and steadied themselves late.

“We were shooting two for 13. We just didn’t really let it affect us,” Notre Dame coach Micah Shrewsberry said. “We just kept shooting it when we were open and found different ways to try and score until we could make a couple threes.”
Notre Dame stays home next, hosting No. 14 Virginia on Tuesday night.
