SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame Men's Basketball hosts their media day allowing players and coaches to speak about the upcoming season and the team expectations.

Days after becoming the number one ranked recruiting class for 2025, Notre Dame hosted their annual media day for the 2024 team.

The Irish earned commits from five-star Small Forward Jalen Haralson, four-star Small Forward Ryder Foster, four-star Power Forward Brady Koehler, and four-star Center Tommy Ahneman.

"2025 has been a slower cycle for recruiting across the country. So, you never know what's going to happen. It just so happened for us at one time," Head Coach Micah Shrewsberry said.

The recruitment has ramped up for Shrewsberry in year two, but it started after his first season at the helm, bringing in veterans like Matt Allocco, a grad transfer from Princeton.

"I've grown up a Notre Dame fan. I've been coming to games, basketball, football since I was four or five years old. I don't know, but Coach ruse already had a great reputation in basketball, and then coming here was once he started recruiting me and talking about, you know, his plans for the team, and this jump we're going to make in the next year, I got right on board," Allocco said.

Allocco's veteran leadership is showing up on the court for young players like the 2024 ACC Rookie of the Year, Markus Burton. Even allowing Burton to play off the ball, thanks to Allocco's ball handling skills.

"It's helpful knowing the fact that he's been to NCAA Tournament a couple times, so he knows what to he knows what it takes to get there," Burton said.

"I'm able to be more efficient. My turnovers are not high. I don't think I turn the ball over a lot like it's been. It's been crazy. How, how efficient I've been, and it's been, it's been fun too," Burton added.

The fun has translated off the floor as also, as the 2024 roster is already nominating each other for certain roles.

"Tae Davis is the goofiest, for sure. If he heard me say that he'd have some words for me right now. So, but yeah, no, he's a funny guy," Allocco said while laughing.

"Oh, the funniest, I definitely, I'm definitely going with Tae (Davis). The quietest, it has to be either me or Sir (Mohammed) and I probably say the most sarcastic guy probably say Mush (Matt Allocco) for sure, but that those three definitely.
